Timeline of History
This page details the major historical events of the Yggdrasil universe.
The Calendar System
[edit]- BTF (Before The Fall): Years in the Asgardian calendar, counting from the dawn of the universe.
- YG (Yggdrasil Era): Years counting from the creation of the Yggdrasil solar system.
- ATF (After The Fall): Years on the new world, counting from the end of the War of Ragnarok.
Pre-Ragnarok Era
[edit]- 7,951 BTF: Ten God Origins residing in Asgard discover the Void and create a solar system with seven planets within it. They name the new system Yggdrasil. This year marks the beginning of the YG calendar.
- < 8,001 YG: The seven planets are established, each ruled by one of the Seven Gods.
The War of Ragnarok (8,001 YG - 12,001 YG)
[edit]- 8,001 YG: The War of Ragnarok begins after a God Origin is slain by a Ráykos. The ruling gods of the planets fall into a great conflict.
- 8,001 - 11,705 YG: During the war, Chronos (the 2nd Generation Yellow God) is killed. The Purple God's spirit is fractured into two new beings: Fah and Rah.
- 9,800 YG: After losing its guiding god, the planet Midgard is renamed Midguard to serve as a final bastion.
- 12,001 YG: The war culminates in the seven planets colliding and shattering. Before all life is lost, the God of Time, Julius (the 1st Generation Yellow God), sacrifices himself to freeze the entire dimension in time, ending the war. This marks the end of the YG era.
Post-Ragnarok Era (1 ATF - Present)
[edit]- 1 ATF: A new world, also named Yggdrasil, is formed from the planetary fragments. The ATF calendar begins.
- 1 - 2,203 ATF: The Chronos Empire, led by Emperor Chrono (son of Chronos), rises to power, conquering over 70% of the new world.
- c. 3,000 ATF: The Fahros religion is introduced to Asvelda by migrating Elves, leading to internal conflicts and the separation of the Theocracy of Athos from the declining Chronos Empire.
- 4,000 - 4,500 ATF: The First Mysterious Incident (also known as "That Incident") occurs. The continent of Asvelda is mysteriously devastated. Emperor Chrono vanishes during this time.
- 4,400 - 4,700 ATF: The Kingdom of Chron wages war against the Republic of Elysia.
- 5,000 ATF: The Second Mysterious Incident occurs. Cities crumble for unknown reasons, people vanish, and monstrous creatures appear across the land.
- 5,001 ATF: The player's journey begins amidst the ruins of Asvelda.
